Access to Health
We are dedicated to improving access to healthcare, particularly for the lowest income households in Africa. We believe that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, should have the opportunity to receive essential medical care.
Through our initiatives, we facilitate access to health services, ensuring that those who need it most can receive the care they deserve.
Health Insurance for Rwandans
One of our current impactful projects involves paying for health insurance for entire households in Rwanda.
In Rwanda, families can obtain health insurance for only $5 per person per year, but some still cannot afford this coverage. Our charity is committed to filling that gap and providing the necessary funds to cover this cost for the lowest income households. This means that families can focus on their health and not worry about the financial burden of healthcare.
By partnering with the local government of Nyarugenge, Kigali, Rwanda, we are able to identify and support those who are most at risk. So far, we have provided health insurance coverage for hundreds of Rwandans, enabling them to access necessary medical services and treatments.
In addition to providing health insurance for households, on a wider scale, we also provide individual support to those in need of extra health services, such as surgeries. We understand that some healthcare needs go beyond insurance coverage, and we are committed to ensuring that individuals can access the specialized care they require.
By addressing these specific needs, we strive to make a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape and improve the lives of those we serve.
Sherrie Silver, our founder, has a deep passion for promoting fitness and overall well-being. As a partner of the World Health Organization (WHO), she advocates for the importance of staying active and fit. Our foundation organizes community festivals and street parties that encourage communities to move and dance, making fitness an enjoyable and fun experience.
This unique approach to health not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters social connections and community engagement. Sherrie Silver is also an ambassador for Malaria No More, an organization dedicated to ending malaria.
Inspired by the loss of her cousin to this preventable disease, she has taken it upon herself to be part of the fight against malaria. In Africa, where malaria remains a significant threat, Sherrie Silver's advocacy contributes to raising awareness and driving action. With approximately 90% of malaria cases occurring in Africa, it is crucial to combat this disease and save lives through prevention and treatment efforts.
